I have to go back to work, but Blake wanted to fish once more before we returned to school. Therefore, we made one last freezer run for a while. CV is nearly close enough to be a neighbor, so he jumped onboard this morning for some fun.

The day started rather slow, but picked up accordingly as the sun knocked the ice of our ears and Blake's fingers. I really have to hand it to him. He is an extremely resilient boy, if I do say so myself.

Slabmesilly "true blue" ended up being the ticket despite my wanting to force "tom cat" down their throats. Speaking of...

Down the hatch!

Caught well over 100, but kept 66 nice keepers for the belly!

People keep asking me which colors. These seem to work fine!

Yeah, Blake fished the first and last hour today. It warmed up enough and fish were going over the gunnels so quickly, Blake decided to play onboard today. He still managed to put his fish in the box.

Today I learned why people say they hate CV. I prefer to see it as a way to learn something else... humility and little know how to boot.

Nice Job Pope, sure looks like some memories were made today
I love to see a young boy that likes to fish, appears he is
going to be a dandy. Nice rig you got there, perfect crappie rig. Tight Lines

Thanks Blake for a great day.... Oh yeah... your old man can hold his own too for sure...

It was a pleasure to have fished with both, Brandon & Blake. That Blake is nothing less but AWESOME!... Not a second of discouragemnet. He's very well gonna become a guru before he can drive....

Eventhough we caught fish on both of those jigs posted above, I didn't even fish with both. My "True Blue" (Blue/Silver/Blue) was a killer from start to finish. As we got ready to head out, a couple of anglers who were just heading in to start their adventure stopped by to chitchat. I took off the jig that I was catching a good 100 fish off of my line and handed to them for luck. I was lucky I didn't loose a single jig today...

What did I ever do to be hated?? hehehheheh... Pope put me on fish & all I tried to do was my fair share of Lip Ripping, however, today it was more like Throat Digging....hehehhe

Thanks once again for a great outing to both Brandon & Blake..
BTW...that is one cool photo of you Blake with all the fish...Oh yeah, that hat looks great on you...If I ever get a smaller size to fit you, one will be reserved for ya...

Great catch. Blake is getting a little spoiled don't you think? He'll have more fish stories than Audie Murphy has war stories by the time he's ten.

A good day fishing is not losing a jig, a bad day fishing is not losing a minnow!

That is CV. Halfway through the day he was promoted to front seat. Either he was tired of me on the trolling motor or I am exhausted from having the duty all the time. I need to ride back seat sometimes. Trailering and driving gets old. I am retiring for a month. Back to the salt mine!
