Couldn't believe it, picked up the reg chronarch lh for 159.88 at Academy near I35 & 635 fri. Have always wanted one but could not justify that $230 sticker price. shimano never discounts their high end bread n butter reels more than a few bucks. Talked to wife and agreed on early Xmas for me. Couldnta  lk them into xtra half though because of ending in .88. they had the demo in the case for same price when I lft. Clerk was clueless on the .88 deals. Also oblvious as to what a good deal this was. price sticker said discontinued item. Is the new curado replacing the chronarch. Have already one each of diff. styles of curados but never the gold reel. check other stores and see if it is the same there.

I have been trying that angle with my wife lately on a three bank charger, but no cigar. I may need some fine points on the art of persuasion cbass.

There is one at the Academy in Longview, a Chronarch super free lh for the same price. I bought a Chronarch 100mg for $200, was that a good buy?

CALL YOUR ACADEMY AND FIND OUT IF THEY ARE ALL DISCOUNTED. I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT. I ALWAYS HEARD THAT SHIMANO WILL NOT LET RETAILERS DISCOUNT THEIR RELS TO PROTECT THE LITTLE GUY, THAT'S WHY I'VE NEVER SEE A REG CURADO CHEAPER THAN $99 BEFORE. WHWN I SAW THE PRICE, I THOUGHT THWEY MADE A MISTAKE AND EVEN HAD CLUELESS CLERK SCAN IT. AN EARLIER THREAD MENTIONED ABOUT AN XTRA HALF OFF FOR ITRMS PRICED IN RED ENDING IN .88. WIFE ALSO BOUGHT TWO PAIR OF SHORTS FOR UNDER %5.00 WITH THE .88 DEAL. ANYWAY IT'S WORTH CHECKING OUT.
IF I COULD HAVE BOUGHT THE 2ND ONE I WOULD HAVE. USED CHRONARCH SELL FOR AROUND THE PRICE I BOUGHT THE NEW ONE FOR.

I checked an Academy here in Houston, they had Chronarchs and Curado Leftys on clearance with the .88 cent ending.....but alas, the manager said the 50% off was only on lures, weights and such........

Starts with Chronarch and goes up from their. 100MG for $200 is a great price, well below wholesale.
