Great weekend. The crappie are stacked on the brush piles. We cleaned close to 100 yesterday morning. If you have never fished Big Sam, I highly suggest you hook up with Roger Bacon for a trip. Oh, and there is nothing like watching a 10+ pound bass eat a LEGIT 13" crappie that just bit your minnow.

That would be a sight to remember during those cold winter night.
If the LORD takes me to it, He will see me through it.

Totally agree about Roger, have used him five or six times the last two years, am going down end of august, can't wait to get there. Fishing Big Sam for crappie with Roger will make you not want to go around here.

Ronnie is worth the price of the trip just for his comedy. He has the best one-liners I've ever heard. He's also great with kids. One of the guys fishign with us had his 4-year old on the pontoon. I think she got a kick out of Ronnie also.

I've never fished Sam Rayburn, but I plan to try to make down there in late Oct/early Nov. What are the crappie prospects that time of the year.

Made the weekly trip to the lake this morning, fished tops in 24-25 and 31 ft of water and caught all we wanted. The bite was light, had to watch the line hard. Used jigs and minnows, my partner's 9 year old granddaughter used minnows and caught several over 14 in's. with jigs let it swing in and most of the time the bite was on the fall/swing down.
Backlash 47 give me a shout when you get ready to come down (bassfish@ktsnet.com) and I will give you an update.
If the LORD takes me to it, He will see me through it.
