I'm planning a trip to RayRoberts within the month. It'll be a fair piece to travel (350 Mi) but I hope the fishing will be worth it. Any suggestions as to promising locations on the lake, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

You're driving 350 miles to go crappie fishing? In the winter? Wow! I hope it's worth it. I have a trio I want to make but it's to weisse lake in Alabama. So far it's not worth going that far. But the trophies in that lake make it desirable.

The Crappie should be stacked up on deep points and there will still be some fish on the deep corp b/p's in a few weeks. The creeks are another option as well.

Jerry,

Is it productive right now to slow troll the deep points? I will be up there on a campout with the kids in a few weeks and I am debating whether or not to bring the boat?

Jay,

we trolled down there Sunday and caught 1 short fish. They are just not there yet. I think it was November before Paul started fishing down south last year but we are not sure when they moved in confused
If you want to catch some Bass, we tore them up down there on minnows. I'd like to take a drop shot down there wink It would be nothing to catch 20-30 Bass in a short time. The Bass fisherman were throwing up on the banks and we were coming in behind them in 30' water and tore them up rolleyes If those fellows would turn around and fish behind them they might catch a few more fish....

Well, Wylie, it's not purely a fishing trip, I have a son in Denton, but while he's having to work, you know what 'ol Dad plans to be doing. He plans to take off a couple of days and wet a hook too.

Thanks everyone for the info. Please keep me informed if you can. As soon as we get a killing freeze here north of Amarillo, I'm headed south.
