Just started using true tungsten bullet weights about 3 months ago on my texas rigged worms...I know I mentioned this in a thread awhile back but I swear I hang up and snag more with these weights than anyother bullet weights ive used before. I dont know if its the blunt tip on the weights or what but I swear i get snagged more fishing these than standard led. I like the feel of tungsten but I think for tx rig I may go back to lead....
whats yalls take on this? anyone find this common?

I do as well. I think it's because it's smaller. A 3/8 tungsten is smaller than a 3/8 lead. The smaller weight can get in more cracks, leading to more hang ups.

I think its by design. First they get you to buy em and love the way they feel so you just have to have them. Then they start snagging more and broke off so you have to buy more. Pretty soon my paycheck will just be direct deposit to Tru Tungstan.

well I can tell ya its really no worth the hassle too me....nothing more aggrevating than throwing a weedless texas rig and it snagging.....Im going to try lead again and see if I run into the same thing....if I dont then ill be switching back its not worth the headache for me and the price of them is so high I really dont like when it happens and I lose one.

I have not noticed a difference where I fish. Are you getting snagged on rocks, grass, or wood? For me the smaller size decreases the snagging around wood.

I think that the lead ones are more mallable and will bend out of trouble. The tungsten ones will not do that. That being said... I am sticking with tungsten 90% of the time.
you know, nothing wrong with seven men who met on the internet going for a swim together

Never noticed a difference. About anytime my sinker is snagged I boat past it and pull it free from the other direction. But I dont pull and tug as soon as it gets hung. I rarely have to break off.

I think b/c of the price you just notice snagging more. Lead is cheap, you break it off and go on. Tungsten at a $1 plus each makes you want that sucker back. I don't notice any difference in snagging.

I think the problem lies in the tip of the bullet weight being more blunt than the other bullet weights. Also another thing someone mentioned was that the 1/4 ounce weights are so small that the skirt of the tungsten weights is not covering the front of the worm up allowing it to possibly snag some.

For a $7 sinker I'll take my chances.
