i use a okuma SLV 2/3 and like it (although it wont hold any backing, just the flyline)

I have not tried a Dennison reel, but there are some on the forum (like rrhyne) that are real ultralite buffs who know more about them. They are tiny and light and well made.

I have several models of the J Austin Forbes reels. Nice click drag reels that will hold a very light line, but not much else. They balance well with short, lightweight rods.

I have one White River reel (not an ultralight) and have had corrosion problems with it.

I have the Dennison as well as the White River Classic UL. Both are nice little reels. They both hold line and don't overweight the butt end of the fly rod so what more could I ask?

Never owned a magnesium reel, I suppose I have dark thoughts about hooking up to some huge fish and the screaming reel turning into a flare as the magnesium heats up to it's flash point wink

Although I don't own a Forbes or Dennison- They are very well-known to those seeking fairy lightness. Don (Zenkoanhead) is another who speaks well of both the Forbes and the Dennison.
I recently acquired a new to me Dan craft 0wt for some lighter creek presentations- it's amazing multi-sectional rod. It came paired with a machined aluminum White River UL reel- I am impressed with the lightness and build.
If you're interested in something a little heavier - 3.25 -4.0 ounces, then your option increase.

At this point I propose that the criteria on which one will be more a matter of best price and availability as opposed to which product.

I got a sweet deal on my Dennison from another angler who wanted to unload it. The Bass Pro I simply up and slapped down the cash-ola at the BPS money pit store in Grapevine smile

I have not used any of the ones mentioned -- but of you can find a Ross Colorado in Size 0 (they are discontinued) -- they are great little reels.

True. But be ready to fork out $75.00 -$100 plus shipping to find one on the 'bay.
At 3.35 ounces, machined, and engineered to take a ground zero nuclear strike, my Colorado zero is going no where for any price. An added bonus is that you can get extra spools -not the case with the other offerings.

That ought to all be on the websites. I find the two I have to be pretty close in size. I've never miked them or anything.

Yes, I have the Forbes 2in, also the 2.5 and 3in. Nice reels all. Well made, good looking, and light. As with any small reels, their only issue is capacity. Little room for backing and maybe not even a full fly line. It's a good reel to use with a shorter line, like a Teeny Head Start, half of a DT line, or a Cortland Ten Yard Line (specially designed for ultralight rods).
