Next time I go on the water I am going to try using some jigs and I want to know how to use them right.

Should I drop it down to desired depth and ust let it sit there or sloly move it up and down every so often if vertically fishing which is what I will probably be doing

Still as possible...If you do decide to "jig" it. Always jig down, not up.

Alright thanks jacob I always thought you had to jerk it up and down a bunch and thought it would be to much work then just using a minnow

That's what I used to think as well. It kind of makes sense though. If something is suspended in the water it's usually alive otherwise it would either float to the top or sink to the bottom. The fact that it is still just means to a crappie that it's an easy target.
