I am looking for a rod blank manufacturer comperable to a Loomis GLX. I have a friend that wants me to build one for him but does not want to invest $275 on the blank if he does not need to. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Contact CASTAWAY in Montgomery 936-582-1677. Ask for Scott. Tell him what kind of action you want or what you want to be able to do with the rod. He is one of the best builder/designers around and can get you what you need.

TALLEN make Blanks that just like Loomis.That is what I have been told anyway. Most of the rod blanks come out of North AR.

Try Rainshadow by Batson Enterprise they are really good blanks I have built quite a few rods on these with no complantes
