I'm pretty new to fishing this lake and I'm just trying to get a better perspective of whats best to throw out there.
I was thinking that maybe fishing a spoon vertically next to some of the marinas or deep channels with a lot of trees and cover might work...
So has anyone had success with a spoon on Canyon? Thanks.

I have tried and tried and can not get bit on jigging spoons out there. Makes no sense. When fishing gets real tough on any lake I'll toss those out and always good for some fish. Caught some hawgs on choke with 'em a few months ago

Jigging spoons has always been a great way to fish vertically in Canyon Lake for striper, whites and blacks. The most popular have been KT Spoons, Pet Spoons and Berkly sprite spoons.

My son and I use spoons and slabs for whites at Canyon. Mark the fish on the fish finder and start jigging.

If your going to be spooning on canyon you have to take pictures and post them. Then we will let you know if you were doing it right. But seriously...
If there are fish schooling the slab works really well. I have used the single hook spoon up river with quite a bit of success too.
