Yes, speckled trout can be caught year round.

Are you looking at catching numbers of trout or do you want to catch big speckled trout? Basically what I mean is are you looking to catch a limit of trout or are you after a trophy trout in the 7-9 pound range?

To be honest, Limit is good. But in that limit, one monster would always be nice.

AJ Perez - Can you tell me if there is access to the water near McCollum Park since it is closed off? I have a boat but was curious about wade fishing the area towards HL&P Spillway.

McCollum Park is closed off right now? Bummer cause it's a great access point to the water to wade fish HL&P and wade fishing that whole shoreline area by the HL&P discharge is a great winter wading spot especially on a good incoming tide.
