OK well I have to get my wife a new car and cannot spend very much money on fishing now. I am looking for a cheapo rig. I am looking at the Cabelas King Kat rod and the Cabelas salt striker reel. Has anyone used this combo and if so how did it work. Also where is the cheapest place to buy bank sticks or something. I want an alrm darnit I wanna be in the cool kids club.... lol

I, like many, used the King Kat rods and Salt Striker reels starting out. I still use the Salt Strikers on my stalking rod and my marker rod for now. The King Kat rods are OK, but very stiff compared to a traditional carp rod. I know Donnie and a few others have caught some big fish on them.

I may have some alarms and stuff coming on market soon....so PM me.

catfishing is now an industry ... it's best for the industry to eat baby catfish

I have the BFS alarms and like them a lot. Great alarms for the money. I have both the GSP and the screamer. Like the GSP best so far.

Cool I am debating on getting a kit from there that has two tri pods and the buzz bars with alarms. I am just having to be a tightwad due to the wifey car issue. If she aint happy I don't fish at all.

I got the kit you are describing. Works well for me. Bought the screamers with some bank sticks so that I have other options.

With a 70 percent chance of snow Tuesday, I am gonna sit this one out. Would be fun, but not worth the risk on the roads.
