Has anyone have any practical experience with the hds units recieving gps signals with the unit mounted on a console in conjuntion with a hard top? Will i need to add a puck antenna?

If you have already bought one, try it and see. I know mine won't work in my garage or in my boat house. Can't see the sats until I move it outside so suspect it won't work for you either. But, try it and see.
