I started using slip bobbers this summer and need some help. Many times my line gets hung up as it goes through the bobber. I put on as much weight as I could without sinking the bobbers but the problems persisted. I switched to a 4 lb mono thinking it would do better but still have some problems. I have been using Thill bobbers which I am very dissapointed in. I had two fall apart on me last night.
Also, my pre-tied knots tend to fall off.
What is the best slip bobber and how should they be rigged and fished?
THanks for your help.

Try the wing-it slip bobbers that they sell at Academy. Use the one that is the size of your thumb. That is all that I use and I only have a problem if the bobber gets a crack in it and the string catches in the crack.

j: Wally World also carries the 'Comal' brand. They are plastic and have at little red guide at the top the fits into the black plastic main 'stick'. Pull this plastic guide out and you have lots more room for the line. I think some of the bobber, esp the Thill, were designed in area that water has NO surface tension. That's what gets you, the surface tension of the water in those small areas inside the bobber body is great enough to actually hold up your line even with weight attached.
