Does anyone know of a site (or some similar media) that would tell a person where the fishing barges in Texas are located? I (like most bank bound anglers) spend a great deal of time fishing barges in winter months (not many "creeks" in West Texas, barely any lakes), and it seems that I am constantly hearing about new barges that I was never aware of. I do spend a good deal of time on TPWD's wedsite, and on some of the lake maps they provide will display a barge or fishing dock. Don't particularly care about a "report", but just finding some new water would be nice. It's been way too long since I've posted and may or may not get a reply, but if anyone could just steer me in the right direction (if there is a destination) I would appreciate it. I did some fishing Wed. and Thurs. and caught a couple hundred fish and did manage my limit Wed. and 21 on Thursday (the rest were 5-9 inchers). I caught them all in 6-8 feet of water and most keepers were caught on Jig-Ums. Good fishing everyone and let's all pray for rain. God Bless.

Most of the ones I know of are independentaly owned/operated and don't have ties to TPWD. If you use google you can usually find them on the lakes you are interested in going to.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have fished the following : White River, Stamford, Fort Phantom (Charlotte's Cove), Kickapoo, Brady, Lewisville, Ray Hubbard (all three), Colorado City, OH Ivie(when it had water), both on Lake Brownwood(when there were two), Ray Roberts, Whitney, Fork(pier), One on Sam Rayburn(20 years ago), Navarro Mills, and Weatherford. I recently found out that there was one at LBJ?, one at Richland Chambers, and one on Lake Buchanan. I was just wondering about others, because it seems that I hear about another just when I thought I knew about most of them. Thanks agfisher02. I guess the best route would be to pick a lake I want to go to, and then google to see if it has any bank fishing accomodations. Thanks for your help, and good fishing.

There are three on Belton. One is at Belton Lake Outdoor recreation Area (BLORA) and is open to the public, the other two are owned by sportsmens clubs but are pretty cheap to join, 40 bucks a year I believe. One is Bell County Sportsman and the other is Central Texas Sportsman's.

Stillhouse has one at the Marina.

Thanks again everyone for your replies. Now all I have to do is save up for gas and maybe I'll try some of those places next winter (provided we have one). And yes, I believe it was Marina Del Ray on Rowlett. Not a barge, but some good boat slips. Thanks again everyone.

You need to wait on rain to fish the barges on Benbrook, Rocky Creek is 100 yards from the water. 13.5' low.

Seeing that you list Lamesa as your home, I lived in Amarillo 10 years ago. There was a barge on Lake Meredith back then.
