you know the packets that you break up and they stay warm?
well do anything that has been mentioned above and then slide that packet down the inner part of your leg down by the ankle, It will heat the blood vessels up that feed your foot with blood, in return keeping your feet warm. Works better this way than just placing it in the bottom of the boot.
Same thing works for the hands- just put it on your wrist area, it will keep your fingers warm.
I seen this tip on "The" forums, thought it was very very cool, enjoy

Jared, I wear a pair of waterproof Danner hunting boots with 1,000 grams of thinsulate, and I wear them one size larger than I would with regular socks. Underneath I wear a pair of Wolverine synthetic work socks and that's it! If it's super cold and I need extra, a pair of wool socks over the synthetics do the trick. I can't emphasize enough having your cold weather boots larger than normal. If you are wearing your works boots with heavy wool socks, odds are they are too tight and are cutting off the circulation to your feet, which only makes them colder. So, synthetic or wool socks (no cotton), heavily insulated, waterproof boots 1 size bigger than normal and some of those heated chemical packs inside the uppers if need be.

the chemical foot warmers never seem to work more than 30 minutes for me when I use them in rubber boots. I guess they suffocate since it takes air to activate the ingredients. Not to hijack the thread but how long do the batteries last in the electric socks.
What was that?

I used to wear neoprene socks, but my feet have gotten too big - tried to find some online but no luck.
I'm suprised no one mentioned that.

How do you keep your feet warm? That's easy, stay in the house!! Back in my Army days we'd were the thin "dress" socks (like silk I guess) and then the wool socks over that. The thin ones wicked away the wet (sweat) and the wool kept us warm. I agree about cotton, stay way, it will get wet (sweat) and will not keep you warm. If you think your feet don't sweat, you need to see a doctor, cause that ain't normal.

I did wear Tennis Shoes and regular white socks. Much warmer than leather. I purchased a pair of Wolverine 100 thinsulate boots at Academy and didn't go wrong. I love them and had warm feet on Deer Blind the other day.

There was a thread about this in the bass section. Some people recommended "SealSkinz" waterproof socks. I went ahead and bought some online. Found them for 31.00 shipped, but haven't used them yet. They are supposed to keep you warm and dry while wearing your regular shoes.

Academy has a good pair of waterproof boots with thinsulate from Wolverine that are light for @ $49. Get maybe a half size bigger than what you normally wear and invest in some quality wool socks on the same isle. Worked for me.

Biggest mistake I find people make is wearing too many layers of socks resulting in overly tight boots/shoes thus restricting blood flow to the feet. Unrestricted circulation coupled with good socks and insulated boots/shoes should work just fine. I grew up in OH, about an hour south of Lake Erie and spent many winters hiking around with nothing more than 1 pair of socks and well insulated boots (and steel-toes are a no-go).
My opinion is worth what you paid for it...
