I am new to forum. But I have been following you guys for a while. I am pumped to join. This weekend I am in search of some Trophy Trout at Trinity Park in Fort Worth. Fished Lakeside Park in Duncanville a couple of weeks ago. Did pretty well. A guy told me that they stock some big boys at Trinity ,hope they stocked again this year!

Went for a couple hours tonight. Nothing for the first hour and a half. Then the four people who were racking 'em up left. Three of us took their place and we all got our limits in about 15 minutes. Was a lot of fun. Catching them on Super Dupers and orange worms.

Make sure you are not in the "consumption ban" area.

I have never been to Trinity Park , is that just by the Fort Worth Zoo. Is it just of I-30. What size were the trout. I have caught some 14 inchers at LakeSide Park in Duncanville. Is that about the biggest size. You'll get in the stocked ponds

Trinity Park is the section where Mayfest usually happens. Behind Pappasitos and Pappas Burgers. Just North of I-30. Not sure about the usual size. I've been out a few times and 12 inches was the biggest so far. Most have been 10 inches or a little under.

What do you know about River Park,(Trinity River) I think River Park already had one stocking this year and the next one will be Jan 7th. that part of the Trinity is off Bryant Irvin, by the Lockheed Martin Recreation Area.

I also saw several nice 14-18" fish caught there. I think they came from a different hatchery than the ones they've stocked this year though. I believe they came from Arkansas somewhere.

The Trinity River Authority or Tarrant Water District, I cant remember which, use to buy trout from Arkansas and stock the river at Trinity Park.

I've seen a stringer of 20" trout caught, but have had no luck catching any near that size.

I got to catch a few of those (big boys) a few years ago. May just be a rumor but I heard the hatchery likes to rotate the breeding stock and when they do the breeders are sold for stocking. I know they were mighty tasty smoked with wet pecan wood. Had a freezer full that year. They were below the flood control dam at River Park. Caught them there for at least a week.
