I was at the lake yesterday and there were a number of boat drift fishing around the damn for crappie. From what they said they were catching alot of fish. My question is what is the best way to do this? They were spread out all over the place and didn't appear to be much of a method to what they were doing but I am sure there was.

I am no expert on crappie, but when I drift this time of year I am in deep water and drift along the creek or river channel.
