That can be true when things are right...but I've found Monti fish to be a little more contrary than that other little power plant lake to the East. Especially when it's sunny out. If you get a blue bird day the only way I've been able to get bit after the good morning bite is to slow waaaaaay down, deadstick a watermelon red tiki/senko/trick worm or fish similar colors on a drop shot. I'm sure things change day to day and I really have not spent a ton of time on Monti, but I expect you'll get bigger fish on the senko for sure, not as many but there are some monsters to still be found in that lake.

there is not alot of grass in the lake now but there are some grassbeds to be found, one really big one and all are holding fish.

Just got home from fishing...if it's sunny and windy don't expect numbers. I only managed a 5lber a 3lber and a dink. My partner zeroed. I heard some other guys that found them, but it just wasn't in our cards today. Caught them on Spro frog, spinner bait and the small one was on dropshot.

I CAN REMEMBER BACK IN THE 70'S A LOT OF THE BASS OF SIZE THAT CAME OUT OF MONTI CAME ON 11 INCH BLACK WORMS. I BELIEVE THESE WERE CREME WORMS. PROBABLY CANT GET THEM ANY MORE. REMEMBER IT USED TO BE AWFUL FOGGY ON COLD DAYS AND THE BIG BLACK ONES WORKED BACK THEN AND I WOULD BET THEY WILL STILL WORK.

Very small club paper tournament last Saturday. Winner had 31 pounds (a7, 3-6s, and a 5) mostly on soft cranks. Others on wacky senkos and regular senkos.
