There is a fishing pier in Quintana (at the end of the 8th St). Is it open to public? Do you have to pay to fish there? Is it always crowded (like Seawolf Park)? Any experiences or recommandations to fish there? Thanks

Hummm, we were planning to try out the Quintana pier. Too bad, it was gone. Hopefully they will rebuild it soon. Where is the 61st pier?

the owner of the 61st pier in galveston is rebuilding he is just waiting on the corps of engineer to do their stuff. he is hoping to have it rebuilt by next spring. as far as the galveston fishing at 91st that one is another story jimmy is waiting on ivestors to help him as it could take up to 12 million to rebuild. also if he does not rebuild in 2 yr after the hurricane hit he has to have it torn down at his expense. right now it is for sale for 345 thousand. it would be too bad to lose that pier. on a saturday night from march til novemeber it could pull in an easy 50 thousand in one night. i will miss that pier. it seems to me that the sate of texas does not care about how we can fish here. there are many people who can not wade fish nor have boats nor can ealk the jetties yet we are no longer able to fish. the passes are closing all up and down the state. rollover pass is closing and i just heard that they may try to close san luis pass. its about time we fishermen and women get together and tell them we need more places to fish and relax. plus it would bring a lot of the tourist dollars in also
