Want to take the kids sandies fishing. Been several years since I've been, and never fished sandies in North Texas. I noticed highway 78 crosses a fork of the Trinity River just below Lake Lavon Dam. Does anyone know if sandies spawn up this way from Ray Hubbard, and make it all the way to Highway 78 and is this a good spot to go during the spawn?

Thanks for the reply. That may work out better....I'm in East Richardson by Breckinridge Park, so Rowlett Creek is closer anyway. Any idea how far up sandies can travel up rowlett creek? The creek is about 300 yards from my house, but don'w know if they make it up this far.

How old are your kids? There really is only a few spots to fish with kids and the weekends are crazy.
