Bad news today for me. I have a 2006 Evinrude Etec 250 and was told I lost #6 powerhead. The motor is 2 1/2 months out of warranty and only 159 hours. We are trying to see if we can still get it fixed under warranty. Anyone else run into this and what is the best way to put on a little pressure to get this covered under the 2.5 month expired warranty?

I feel sick.

Sorry, man. If they won't cover it, see if they will go 50/50 with you on a goodwill repair.

Get your dealer to go to bat for you. Manufacturers are trying to keep every customer they can right now!

I went to look at the motor today, and the #6 piston was fried. They think it happened due to an injector problem/failure.
The guys at the shop talked to Evinrude for a while and they are going to cover the parts; a new powerhead and injector for #6 cylinder. I will have to cover labor, gaskets, plugs, etc. Looks like it will cost me between 1500 and 1700. Much better than paying for the powerhead. I'm still upset it happened to a motor with only 159 hours, but Evinrude is atleast helping. Also a 1 year warranty on powerhead.
