Caught 9 keepers off of brush pile near Jordan ramp on Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m., with many under 10 inchers. Anyone else catching them on the brushpiles?

wow! i just wouldn't think that they would be that deep already...that's good though cause if they're on the big piles now then you can always find them!

All the piles I fish are in 30 feet of water.

Quick question for y'all

Do you anchor down on the brush piles or just used the trolling motor to stay on top of it?

I now have a boat and can get out there but was not sure of the best way to stay on the brush piles once I find them.

Thanks

Just use your t/m to stay on the pile. I'd never anchor on one.

Meangreen,

Mark the outside of the windward side of the brush pile with a buoy or two and use your trolling to work across the brush pile. If you drop a single buoy in the middle, you'll spend too much hunting for the buoy or digging it out of the prop.

I will give that a try. I will have to get me some marker buoys.

Thanks

meangreen, I would suggest getting a good anchor, the kind with about 5 foot of chain attached to the anchor which helps the anchor have the proper angle to catch. mark the brushpile with a buoy or two and then go upwind ofit about 10 yards. Drop anchor and either drift, troll, or slowly motor over pile dragging anchor on bottom. It will catch on brush, be sure and be ready to "give" some rope when it catches.Pull yourself back over the pile. can take up rope or let some out to fish differeent spots on the pile. To get anchor out of brush, slowly motor upwind of pile, may have to attach rope to cleat to get it out, though most times I don't have to.With the wind on raybob, I would constantly be hung up without anchoring. Hope this helps, just the way I do it.

That's what I am talking about. If you are lucky and hook it right , you can reloacate the brush to where you want it. who_knows

recently caught 25 or so (with 12 keepers) off one of the community brush piles (15-18 ft) in the east fork of the lake. They seemed to be around 2-3 feet off the bottom. Going tomorrow afternoon. Will post results.
