Has anybody traditionally had good luck at Fork during New Years...
My wife and I are thinking of skipping out on our final hunt of the year and fishing Fork for a day around New Years.

I will usually go to a power plant lake. But Fork does have it's moments in January.

Great day for size!!! Go chunk and wind some red/orange traps on some windy points with grass and hold on! I fish on the first up there every year and have caught some toads!

I went last New Years Day. You'll have the lake all to your self! Red traps worked pretty good. Bite was kind of slow, but we caught some good fish.

A few years back, I was told by a well known guide at Lake Fork - The absolute best time to catch a wall hanger is in January. I booked him for January 31st and we caught so many 8- 9 pound bass, our arms hurt to the point that we told the guide we could not take anymore and to take us back to the marina (by 11:30am) It was almost every 3 casts would hook an 8 - 9 lber. And we were throwing the Castaic Trouts in Shad color which helped to wear us out as well. If I were to go back to Fork for another wall hanger - It would be in January.
