all depths were producing, but 4-5 ft was the depth.

Rowlett creek has a lot of good spots as well. best way to fish it though is in a boat like my fish cats... below is a pic of Thenightfisher in one of the Fishcats that i guide out of. otherwise you get hung up a lot if your banking it. but at times its super hot. especially in january, when some sandies start showing up. limits of crappie and sandies within an hour or two are not unheard of. ill start a new thread when i hit that creek...

see, this branch is not assessable by bank. you have to have a a boat of some sort to get to the good holes. (if any of you are interested in a guided trip in one of these, you will have a blast. a lot of my clients ended up buying a FishCat themselves after the trip.)

- these are quality fish out of rowlett creek

fished from 7-11 today and not much action at all. Caught a plenty of undersize ones. Left with only 2 keeper crappie. Yellow Bass are in there pretty thick. Barometric pressure must be messing with them because it was SLOW...and freezing of course. My slip bobbers kept freezing to the line and had to thaw the ice out every half hour or so. More than likely heading out there tomorrow afternoon. Might try rowlett creek this afternoon or tomorrow morning

Report: hit the water at about 8 am. Wind chill was 14 they said on the radio. And yes, it was freaking cold. But- the crappie were cooperating. All on hand tied jigs and a few on "extra large minnows". Sandbass are thicker than i have seen them in the creek before. caught a couple magnums and over 50 throw backs. But all in all, it was a bit slow. bite stopped about 11am. -with one here and there after.....

-Typical WRC Crappie

-Josh's Stringer

-Crappie and Sand Bass

Ok Guy's how about a little help. I've heard the stories & seen the pix's. So if I wanted to try a little winter time WR Creek crappie where do I start? Between Skillman and Lawther or Lawther and NW Hwy. And where is a safe place to park.

Hit WRC today and as usual fishing from the bank all i got were pretty hefty yellow bass and a few dinky crappie. Hopped in the fishcat and hit up the deeper water and hauled in my limit of keepers in about 2 hours. all 14 inches at least

Went out this afternoon but the fish were not biting like they have been, caught plenty and baby sandbass and yellow bass but only one crappie. noone i talked to was catching anything. dont know the real deep water but over by flag pole hole. havent found anything over 10ft anywhere on whiterock but there. i tried other areas , different depths different jigs it just wasnt happening today. plus it seems the water has came down about 6-8 inches from a couple days ago. im sure once the weather settles it will get better.
