Anyone have the write up with pics on changing the impeller on a mercury?? U remember seeing one, but no luck with the search...

Any help appreciated!!

Dont put the gaskets on the way he did,the one he put on top of the wear plate, goes under the wear plate, the one he put under the wear plate is the top gasket. Itll ruin the gasket and overheat the way shown in the video.

Did he turn the drive shaft clockwise? I don't know if it makes a difference but I always face them the other way.

Yep I bet he had fun with the speedo hose seeing that he pulled it completely out of the motor. Now the guy has gasket pieces in the motors cooling passages that a boat mechanic will get to deal with. Always rotate drive shaft the direction that motor turns when running when installing the housing.

About the only difference is the shift rod linkage is attached to a swing arm under the bottom carb, inside the cowling,

And keeping the exhaust adaptor in place. Tape it up to center section.
