They had to put the surgery off util today due to poor kidney function, but they took him into the O.R. about three hours ago and so far so good. I got to spend all night in his room with him last night and he was very happy to hear of all the great guys on this forum pulling for him. I know he's looking forward to another trip to Texas in the spring cause all he wanted to talk about last night was more Crappie fishing on Cedar Creek, and chasing Reds with Jackie and Peanut at Fairfield.

Be sure to motivate him to get well by informing him the younger and prettier nurses lack senority so they have to work the weekends. Don't get used to those compliant and pretty faces over the next two days. The Monday through Friday shifts get older, uglier and are way better manipulators of patients. Plenty of motivation to get back on his feet.
Get him well soon. With a good recovery and a strong heart he could even handle and deserves a Texas winter fishing trip!
Send our thanks to his doctors as well. Please keep us posted on his progress.

I just got back from Ohio. My Dad made it thru the operation. They did a triple bypass. They moved him from CICU to a regular room today. He still has a long road to travel and his kidney function is still not right but he is a tough man. The night he came out of surgery was a nightmare come true and he almost gave up a couple of times but thank god for my sister who is an RN working two full time nursing jobs. She gloved up and jumped right in and wouldn't let him give into the pain. I never want to see my dad in that kind of pain again, ever. Thank you all for your prayers. Again TFF proves what great people are on here.

Dad got a blood transfusion and he is doing great. Going home in the morning!!!!!
