I hear the same rumor....I won't post any names, of course, but I hope they step up to the plate. We could use the increased payback percentage that I hear is the main objective and marketing basis for the new trail.

You know who you are and you have our support from around 'Rayburn.

I just got the email back from Angela at ESPN. They like the idea of the new format that we worked out this weekend and have plans to provide limited coverage based on the contingencies that we discussed Saturday evening. Angela said that they would like to start by sending Michael Conner and his camera man down here to spend a day on the water with The Hammer. They would like to chronicle his big win on Sandlin complete with a detailed narrative from The Hammer himself. The follow up story to air during the same broadcast will analyze the process, circumstances, and course of events that led to The Hammer and Ice spanking two that many would consider to be "Elites" on their own home lake during the highly publicized event this past weekend.

Now this is a funny post to wake up to in the morning. No need for coffee to start this day.

I wonder if the sponsors that are leaving FLW are leaving to become sponsors of this trail? I think ABC may be interested in this as a reality series! I smell a rematch coming soon I know "THE BRIAN" WANTS some more of those trash talkers from Carthage and Long Branches money! And "THE TODD" is on suicide watch from the loss on Saturday!

Hey we did catch a limit, and we didn't lose we came in third, thats a ton more sponsor money coming my way I can smell it. We can do a rematch whenever. Brent and I were already talking about the Drought BOWL in August. I'm sure we will have a few more before then. I think Aquafina is on board for the Drought Bowl.

By the way if you got some time I'm going to Lake Nac tomorrow or Wednesday you in.

I'm kind of late weighing in on the First Annual IBCS (Ice Bowl Championship Series) aka the Branum Cup but I want to say that this was a great event with a great bunch of guys on an awsome winter day. I gotta tell you, to be in the presence of such greatness was an overwhelming feeling! I mean the arenaline rush literally kept me warm for at least 7-9 seconds much like the complimentary chicken fried steak that the Stump provided after the tourney. "The Shaddow", "The Todd" aka "Mr. 30", the Jusitsuian Suhavi master "The Iceman", "The Hammer" aka "The Jig Master" were just a few of the Rayburn celebrities that drove through the alleged torrential ice storm to be a part of the IBCS.

Since no one has posted a formal write up I've put together a little something for next months Lakecaster.

"42 teamed anglers gathered on a luke warm day for the inaugural event of Ice Bowl Championship Series that has since been dubbed the "Rayburn Clash of the Trash". Only 3 limits were brought to the scales that resulted in team Branum/White (aka The Hammer and The Iceman) walking away with a dominating weight of 14.66 and the win! The win has since been clouded in controversy when an anonamous protest was filed to the tournament director by someone using the alias of "The Shadow". The protest has since been dismissed since the TD was the winner of the event. "I just find it hard to believe someone could dominate the way they did, said The Shadow during an interview with the puddlecaster. I've seen the jigs they use....there's 3 strands of braided blue and orange mylar, 6 strands of died goat hair and 14 strands of some mystery fiber on those jigs!! You can't get those anywhere and it's definately an unfair advantage. Let me tell you...I fished the teur(FLW Tour) and not even Denny (Breauer) has a jig like that. Not to mention he had some kind of ninja in the back of the boat putting some kind of Crocodile Dundee water bufallo voodoo on those bass!! To dominate a field like this one is near impossible said the shadow" Coming in a distant second was the team of Collins/Reed aka "Starskey and Hutch". They ran Starskey's rig to main lake trot lines and dropped 2 dozen jugs tipped with japaneese fighting fish to secure a solid 12.66lb sack. Rounding out third with 11.00lbs was the perennial bada*s team of Castledine/Broussard aka "The Todd and his better looking more likeable fishing partner". All of the participants in the IBCS would like to thank The Stump Restaurant, Nedemore Tackle and American Rodsmith Rods for the complimentary buffet, tackle pack and Chris McCall series rods. Most of the participants surveyed commented that they liked the Dicky Newberry series rods better, but they guess the McCall series would be ok since they were free.
