Some of you know my 20 year old son David Cosner. He is the president of the Texas State College fishing team. He is currently in ICU on life support. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. He is a GREAT young man and fishing is his life.
I will update as things progress.
Update 3:30 Monday
Just got done with a bronc and putting ina drain line in to chest cavity.
Fluid building around his lungs. Things went better than expected YEAHH a little bright spot.
They are going to try and get him off life support in the next day or so while they continue to fight the infection.
Update 10:30 AM Tuesday
They were succesful in removing the intubation (breathing tube) He is breathing on his own with oxygen. Now just fight off the infection and we can get the surgery done.
Update 11:20 Wednesday
Off most of the seditives. Off of life support. Trying to get used to breathing on his own. Still not out of the woods yet. Still need to beat the infection and get his vitals stable so they can transport to get the surgery done. Trying to get to Cleveland for te removal of the lobes.
Power of prayer is working, please keep it going.
Update 4:30 Wednesday
Things ave taken a turn backwards. They found more air in his chest cavity and are installing another cest drain line to try to get it out. They have also found that is left lung is now ivolved with the infection. Te road just got longer and more uphill. We will keep fighting for our son, as we are sure he will. Keep those prayers coming.
Monday 14th 5:00PM
GREAT NEWS..............
They removed the ventilator from David today. He actually sat in a chair long enough to have a sandwich. first real food in 10 days. Still has the nasty infection they are battling. Working towards breathing on room air. Now breathing oxygen via a mask. Definately moving in the right direction. Plan is to battle the infection, get his vitals stable enough to handle the lobe removal surgery. Long recovery from that surgery but it must be done or the infections will continue.
Wednesday 11:00 AM
Thank you for all of your support. Kingfish stopped by and visited with David today. Thanks Kingfish.
They are removing the last chest tube today. The only thing left in him is the cathator and oxygen mask. They are taking him for a wheelchair ride and little walk today. This will be my last ukpdate unitl we go infor the lung removal. They need to get him strong so his body can take that surgery.
