catfish and winter?

im looking to start doing some catfishing this winter but was wondering if some one could give me some tips for winter catfishing,like do they stay at a certain depth in the winter?are trotlines and juglines a good way to winter fish and are baiting holes a good approach this time of year?thanks yall

jug lines are a lot easier to use than the ol trot lines. right now you can find blue cats just about anywhere deep or shallow, or it seems like it anyways.not sure about the hole baiting, i dont see why it wouldn't perform tho.

I used to run trotlines until about 2 years ago, then went to juglines. When your using trotlines, you just have to wait for the fish to come to you. With juglines you can target bait balls of shad, especially in winter, and drop your baits right on top of the fish. If your jugs don't produce, its easy to move them and find the fish again (JMO). I would fish any depth of water, wherever you marking bait with your electronics. Recently, I had good success in the 25'-37' range. Good luck.
