The weather was NASTY...BUT...the fishing was GOOD!! My buddy and I caught 15 stripers (all about 18"-22") 1 Kentucky Spot and 6 Smallmouth. The best 3 SM were 3,4 and 5lb. We had a BLAST!!

Belton is an AWESOME lake. I have to get back down there soon. I would really like to try what we were doing today on Belton. Belton has stumped me on Smallies. Texoma is just so much closer to me than Belton.

I want to keep up with what they are doing and be there when they "Catch Fire". No other fish like the Smallmouth. Beautiful fish AND A FIGHTER!

I keep saying I am going to go small mouth fishing on Texoma but I always find a way to talk myself out of it. I gotta get up there this year. Nice fish. thumb

Thanks Stephen. We still need to take that fishing trip we talked about a few months back. Bring me up-to-date on your new boat. Hope things are going well for you.

Mike

LOL Catslayer...My wife laughed when she saw the pics but actually, I was warm. 3 layers for UnderArmor Coldgear and heavy Gortex insulated rainsuit, Gortex/Thinsulate boots and Sealskinz waterproof/thinsulate gloves. It was not bad at all. My buddy commented on how warm we stayed from catching that many fish. We were there from 9:30 - 3:30. I would do it all over again everyday to be able to catch that caliber of Smallmouth consistently.
