Anyone interested in another Cedar creek Lake Tournament? I have been asked to put one together for the people running the Marina over here on Hwy 198 in Gun Barrel City. They have changed management again and they want to get the word out. I am open on the tournament date and entry fees but I am leaning towards the 29th of October and an entry fee of $50. This should get the payback high enough to make it worth your while if you win. I wouldnt mind making it higher if I thought it would help. My plans are to do a bass tourny and crappie tourny at the same time but keep the tournament seperate. Anyone interested?

I can use all the word of mouth I can get. Is the date and amount good for you guys?

I think October 29th, and $50/team would be great.

Maybe do it like the National Circuits we fish, and have the team weigh their 7 largest fish.

Might talk with a couple local places and see if they are willing to donate some prizes for:

- Big fish
- First place "out of the money"
- Smallest fish (legal 10", and must be part of the 7 your team weighs in)
- Largest fish caught that is not a crappie

Sounds great. I would just need a partner that could catch some fish on Cedar Creek. Because I havent been ab le to catch anything worth keeping lately.

I like Cliff's format ...it allows an individual to fish it.

You can count me in Chuck, let me look at Randy's daughters soccer league, I think it might be over by then. You guy's , don't let guides scare you off, I placed fourth and won a nice rod at the last CC tourney and there were alot of guides fishing. If you are good at crappie fishing and know the lake a little, you will do fine. If someone wants to fish it and needs a good crappie fishing partner, I know just the person, we call him worlds greatest and he claims he could win any tourney on CC. He is one crappie fishing little dude, but I would love to see him back that claim up. I would pay his half of the entry just to see if he could realy do it.

I always like another Tourny, count me in if there is nothing crazy that comes up. If you need scales let me know Chuck.

Just something to keep in mind:

October 29th is the Saturday before Halloween.

There will be some Halloween parties that night. Also, that Saturday could be designated as Trick or Treat night since Halloween actually falls on a Monday this year. I don't know if that could potentially cut down on turn out or not. But, I thought I would throw it out there.

jeff, you make a good point about Halloween, we probably should do it another weekend. My only other Saturday I have open is Novembr 5th. Will that be better for everyone? Also it doesnt matter to me if you want to make it a team tournament or not. Just remember that if you do and you win you'll have to split the winnings.
Cliff, if your not doing anything and you want to come and bring your scales that would be great! I will also adopt similiar rules as Cliff uses in his tournaments. I like the way he runs his tournaments. I dont have a problem with guides fishing the tournament. I plan on asking everyone when they weigh in how they caught there fish and so on. It will be a great way for the average fisherman to learn a few things. Also if anyone wants to donate anything or be a sponsor come on. You can set up a display of your company name or whatever you want. I hope to attract lots of attention from the street and help boost business for the marina. With all this said is Nov 5th good for everyone? If so I'll start working on it!

November 5th looks good to me. I vote for a team tournament format.
