Crappie Popper, I've been busy Subwaying this week-end and haven't heard about the incident you described. Anyone who fishes JB very often knows how deceiving looks are, with underwater rocks and sand bars just under the water. I'll check it out Monday and give a report.

Talked with the sheriff today and he said two elderly men swamped their boat (didn't know how) and stayed in the water for about 20 minutes until CRMWD personel got them out. They were taken to the hospital in Snyder and treated for hypothermia. He said they were both OK. It has scared me to death for years watching people planed out over rock ledges that come up to within 1 foot of the surface. Some years these hidden ledges hold tons of crappie, but they also can be deadly to the unsuspecting.
