Just wondering if anyone has been out on these lakes? Finally get a weekend next week to start fishing. I know Moss is a dimanod in the rough, and so is Nocona. These have "big Crappie" because everyone is fishing for bass. Each spring I have caught my biggest crappie of the year out of these two! Texoma is a sleeper and will try to take advantage this spring, with the condo's west of the 377 bridge. Just haven't had the chance during winter? Anyone else fish up north? Any trollers out there? Let talk! Best fishin Slow!

If ya ever need a partner for Moss lemme know, it's not far from my house and I'm bank bound. I'd be willing to split gas/bait. I'm in Lubbock right now, but during the summer I'll probably be down that way.
No fish is too good for the grease.

Saw your sig file. Have you tried smoked catfish? Put a slab on your head and your tongue will knock you out trying to get at it.
Moss is a sleeper. watch out for the boat fees. Also had some golden algae awhile back, but should be over that by now.
The dock fishing should be good, but the banks are so steep that normal dock fishing strategy does not work.
You know WWIII has started when the French surrender!

Steve-O This is a lake you need to learn. How many times have you fished it? I troll this and during spring it starts to kick out the crappie! Last year was the best for me. Docks are not the best targets. As far as the alge problem thats news to me. There is a permit fee there and this keeps lots of people from fishing this lake. The lake is owned by the city of Gainesville.

Golden algae??? From what I found...no. I searched the TPWD page that lists all known golden algae infestations, and it didn't list Moss Lake. They did list Moss Creek Lake, but that's a completely different place. This is Hubert H. Moss Lake.

Hubert H. Moss Lake? Never heard that before. I grew up 11 miles from Moss Lake, Right there on FM 1200. Did not really get into crappie fishng until I moved off to college so i have not experienced the crappie there, but I heard some great things. Slow Troller, have you ever went up into Fish Creek for crappie. I have fished way up that creek for sandbass when I was a kid, we never saw any crappie back then. That lake is really just recovering from all of the pressure it had during the 80's. Let me know how things go around there, would be nice to try when I visit home this spring.
