Well my head hurts, my eyes are strained, and my hands are cramping. Since my last post I managed a trip to Bass Pro and picked out a new 5/6 weight to replace my broken 6wt. I also picked up what I needed to tie the basic trout flys. Another $75.00 later and Im ready to start getting ready for my trip to the guad. LOL

I spent the better part of 3 hours this evening tying RS2's, WD40'S, disco midges, and most baisic nymphs. Tomorrow will be no diffrent. So Ill have atleast 8 hours of time in this trip and I havnt even left yet. I forgot how addicting this hobby is and also how expensive it can be. Alas, its worth it.

What flys do you guys use? Any helpfull info?

Thanx

From what i see, you got the right flies goin. May try caddis for dry if you wanna go that route. i have the most luck with clouser minnow, midge, and black wooly buggers.

If you are feelin froggy, check up in the lake by the dam early morning or evening with a popper or clouser for some schooling whites and stripers.

Below or above the dam?

It's more than the catfish would do.

Below for all except the schooling whites and stripers, which are in the lake around Overlook Park.

Oh it most certainly does. Bringin' the salty rod and the whippy pole (8wt and 4wt) when I make that trip up yonder. I have been trying freshwater trout stuff for the past three weeks, I'm running out of room in my boxes... whoops.

Geeze man, the turkey day reference was appropriate cuz you sure have a full plate. Glad you still can scrape together some fishing time though, and I feel your pain with the tying of the tiny flies - I am still looking up yet more variations of midges and mayfly nymphs to try.

It's a sad, sad thing. But hey, as soon as you make that cast and set that hook, it's all worth it.

You might have to reconsider floating the river. Suppose to rain/snow tomorrow. High is 36.
