I have been a bad boy, I have to admit I have sinned, I have been fishing for green fish a lot. However if the weather forcast holds up I will be fishing Monday for crappie at the slips. I haven't been there lately. I am suppose to fish at Whitney for green fish Sunday. Are ya'll still going to Fork?

Yea, i understand, i have been feeling kinda dirty, (the bad dirty that doesnt wash away) I have beeen doing a lot of bass fishing also.. Actually we arn't supposed to get the boat back untill late tomarrow if not Saturday. So if we do get it back in time we have talked about making it down to Whitney.. We dont think were going to make it to Fork, we wished they would cancel it and re schedule it for some other weekend. Alot more people would be down there for it then. Well let me know about the slips and if we make it i might run into you Sunday..

I get my supplies from Barlows, they have anything you could ever want and more, prices are good and they get your shipment out so fast you can't believe it.
I have been tying a new one that worked fantastic for me last winter. It's called "Crappie Candy", and they really eat it up. I am taking some for door prizes to the TFF Christmas Party.
Good luck, however, it's habit forming and as Matthew told you how much he has invested that is how it goes, you want to order everything. My inventory is huge and I don't sell many to others as Matthew does. I mostly give mine to friends and use them myself.

I have decided to call my jigs..."Reapers Creapers". Ya Creap up on them buggers, get a hit, then Reap their butts from the water. Here is the website for the maker of materials I use. They only sell to dealers. So, if you are in the retail business, they might be able to save you some money, or, have that hard to find item. http://www.wapsifly.com/ I would venture to say, their kit, has some very good equipment for the beginner. Look at the quality of the vise. I doubt if there is a more complete supplier of fly/jig making material anywhere. Your local bait and tackle store could custom an order for you. Those who are in the business like Matthew, could probably order direct.

No Prob Matthew, glad your surgery went well. Let me know if you figure a way to not make tying jigs taxing on your neck and back.

Crappie Reaper, you need to practice relaxing your shoulders and back and not tense them up while tying. Or, get your pretty little thing to rub the kinks out of those muscles. :p

Matt, Reaper, Clyde, Killer everyone..... I have an enormous amount of info...thanks to all. I am ready to tie and have found a fellow in Brownwood that has tied for himself and friends for about 15 years. He gave me some of his jigs and I'll let you all see my first one after I get started. Several of you have asked where Priddy is and like Fish Killer says it's between Comanche and Goldthwaite, 16 miles each way, or 30 miles to Brownwood and 24 miles to Hamilton the other way. Yep, the beer is always cold in Priddy. I fish Proctor and Lake Brownwood and would love for all of you folks to show up sometime so we could all meet at one place or the other. I'd like to make the Christmas party this year to meet evernone but I don't think it's going to work out. As a new TFFer I really enjoy the camaraderie with all. I am really intrerested in fishing some of the tournaments next year to hang out and meet other TFFers.
Take a good look at what you're about to eat. It's not important to know what it is, but it is important to know what it was!

Reaper is a TFF'er/North of the Red River. It's unusual for me to even get much south of Tulsa. It's too hot down there. (Heh) I used to Travel quite a bit, Austin, Houston, DFW, Amarillo, east Texas, El Paso and San Antonio. I have prolly been more places in Texas, than most Texans. But, east Texas, the pine trees, is absolutely beautiful. Me lubs Texas. Magnet, you should be a pro by the time you've tied 50 jigs. GL
