I BOUGHT 1000 YARD SPOOL FOR 70 BUCKS ONLINE. GOT IT IN AND WAS GOING TO USE IT FOR SHAKY HEAD AND DROP SHOTTING. I SPOOLED IT UP ON A SPINCAST REEL BUT WHEN THE LINE GOT FULL I CUT THE LINE TO RUN IT THRU THE GUIDES AND LINE STARTED TO SPRING OFF THE SPOOL. I THOUGHT MAYBE TOO MUCH LINE BUT IT DID IT ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE END. SO I THOUGHT OK MAYBE WRONG DIRECTION SO TURNED THE LINE SPOOL OVER AND RELINED THE SPOOL, WELL IT DID IT AGAIN. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?????????NOW I HAVE PROBABLY 300-350 YARDS OF EXPENSIVE LINE I CANT REUSE. I WAS GOING TO PUT IT ON A SMALL BAITCASTER AS WELL BUT NOW I HESITANT ABOUT DOING THAT. AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG OR IS THIS LINE THAT BAD????? THIS IS THE FIRST TIME TO USE THIS KIND OF LINE BUT I NEVER HAD THESE KIND OF PROBLEMS WITH ANY KIND OF LINE BEFORE. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED
MARK

Fluorocarbon is not a "Spinning Reel friendly line". Expecially for Dropshotting!!! It will twist bad.
Put it on a casting reel.

ITS 8LB TEST
OK ILL TRY IT ON MY BAITCASTER THEN AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. I KNOW A LOT OF PEOPLE USE THIS KIND OF LINE ON THEIR SPINNING EQUIPMENT, EVEN KVD DOES BUT IT JUST COILS OFF THE SPOOL. AT LEAST ON MINE IT DOES

You also should have extra shims that came with the reel when you bought it. (they go under the spool) You add the shims to load the line on the spool differently. (More towards the front or rear)

By shimming the spool you can help get rid of alot of line issues people have.

You will have this problem if when you are spooling the reel you have line coming off the new spool of line the wrong direction. When you are spooling the reel give it about 6-10 turns of the handle and let slack in the line between the spool and your reel. If you have alot of line twist change the direction the line is coming off the spool of line and repeat. Check at that point and the line should no longer have line twist.

may be putting too much line on the spool too you dont need to fill it up all the way. I like to use light braid with a flouro leader but thats because i dont use a spinning rod that much and dont have to fight with it as bad like that lol

I WAS GOING TO DO THE BRAID AS ON THAT REEL I NORMALLY USE 10LB BRAID ON IT THINK ILL GO BACK THAT ROUTE. JUST TOOK OFF PRETTY NEW BRAID SO TIME TO GO BACK TO THE STORE FOR MORE LOL.
I CHANGED DIRECTIONS AND ALSO TOOK SOME LINE OFF NEITHER HELPED. IVE FISHED WITH SPINNING REELS ALL MY LIFE BUT NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE SO I THOUGHT MAYBE SOMETHING WITH THE LINE WAS THE PROBLEM. NO BIG DEAL ILL USE IT ON MY LIGHT BAITCASTER AND USE BRAID BACK ON MY SPINING ROD
THANKS GUYS
MARK

this works for me,..tie a swivel on the end of the line,..attach the swivel to a chain link fence, walk off the amount of line you want on your spin reel. 40-50 yrds is all I load. Before I tie the line to the spool I take 2-3 fat rubber bands and lap them on the spool for traction. Now tie your line on, and spool your line on as ya walk toward the fence, using gentle pressure against the line as you spool it on. The swivel lets the line go on with out twisting...works for me...that and LINE Spray, KVD is good.

I have not had that problem before. But I agree with some of the above comments to problem shoot this. 8 lb should not jump off the spool like that. I too use braid with a fluoro leader.

Btw, I think your caps button may be on thumb

try this, place the spool on the floor and throw a coat or towel over the spool, this keeps constant weight on the line while spooling. At the end, be sure to keep the pressure by pulling on the line while cutting it. It's the slack while spooling that allows the line to "unravel". Once out in the boat with new Flouro, put on heavy bait and throw it for the first few cast to condition the line.
It took me a long time to get used to throwing flouro. Double on spinning tackle. Also, you might try some line conditioner.
