This post is about squaw creek. Please stay on the subject. There in no fish in Wheeler Branch. Just a bunch of dinosaur tracks and bones.

Wheeler Branch will be in Glenrose. It's part of the Somervell County Water District. Should be open some time next year as well. It will be about the size of Purtis Creek but will be deep and clear with trophy small mouth and walleye.

If you don't get your information regarding Squaw Creek Lake straight from Luminant Public Relations, it's all speculation and rumor--and not very good speculation and rumor at that. Encore Energy has nothing to do with the lake or Comanche Peak.

I guess you need to get your info straight Unojo, because Luminant, Oncor, and Txu is owned by EFH. We are all 3 still one family just split into 3 different groups.

Why was Squaw Creek closed to begin with, I'm fairly new to North Dallas and haven't heard about it before?

I am almost positive squaw creek was closed after 9/11 because it is a nuclear powerplant lake. Sure hope these rumor come true I can't even imagine how good the fishing is. My dad weighed in 15+lbs out of a 12 ft John boat with a TM back before it closed.

how can the ramps be fine now, they were terrible when the lake was open...I wonder what the "hill" looks like after nine years of abandonment. I'm sure there is plenty of grass growing through the asphalt to help with traction.

Sombody posted about a week ago, or so, that they had fished Squaw Creek on a Saturday morning and had pictures posted. If still closed, how is this possible?

Maybe I should just know what someone meant, not what they said... Encore and Oncor are two different companies. As you say, Oncor is owned by EFH and we are all one big happy family.

There's a whole bunch of companies called Encore Energy. None affiliated with EFH, or CPNPP. If you're so inclined, they can be found here: Encore Energy

Also as Unojo said Encore & Oncor are 2 different companies and Oncor doesn't own any of Comanche Peak. It is owned by Energy Futures Holding..EFH Oncor is the regulated part of the company that owns & maintains the Hi-Lines. The old TXU is nothing but a billing company that collects your monthly electric bill.

i had a friend that said his uncle told him he just fished squaw creek. I asked how and he said he knew a high up at the plant and he went with that guy. I didn't think it was possible to fish the lake either, but this is coming from a someone I've known well for 25 years and has been my best friend most of those. He seemed to trust his uncle.
