An 8 1/2' alligator was captured in Squaw Creek the Hood County paper reported in the Wednesday addition. Also rumors are flying that the lake is reopenning after the first of the year in some sort of lottery type format. Drawing limited amount of enteries from online applications. Also heard more of the lake may be offlimits and will be buoyed off for security reasons. Buoys have already been purchased and some of the work has been done. Again this is just rumor,but have heard it from several sources.

they would have to rebuild the boat ramp first. last time i was bank fishing down there the ramp was in horrid condition. all cracked up with 4 foot tall weeds growing through it.

i think that gator was shot by the glen rose county boys , and it was at the low water crossing below the dam, and that was about 2 or 3 weeks ago.

i guess they thought it was a threat, and i dont see any new buoys out but i know that some come in about 2 weeks ago or so.

Ramp will be rebuilt, the gate at the top of the hill will be moved to the front of the parking lot so cars won't be backed up in front of those houses back towards 144. Lake opening will be mid summer so the fishing won't be as good and people won't absolutely rape it. $25 per PERSON, not boat. You'll have to call to get on the list each day, no website. The old guy that used to be in charge of the lake and security retired and they actually want to open it back up, there are just a few logistics issues they want to clear up now so things go smoothly.
