When you use team catfish double action hooks do you wait and reel down like with circles when you use them or jerk and reel?

Well our hooks are classified as a cirlce.......but they are much more than that.

so ummmm they are much more than a circle hook but you need to set'um just like you would set a circle hook ... well that answers the original question

I've always thought that the reason they were called "Double Action" was because you could either set the hook, or reel down like with a circle. The video may have covered it but it wasn't real clear. I did see a hook set I believe.

I set the hook sometimes and then sometimes just load the rod, they work great both ways from my experience.

Yeah, I've got the TC Double Action 8/0 hooks on my kitty R&R''s but the only day I had to try them out I decided to go swimming instead.

You can jerk the heck outa our hooks, but they are not designed like a true circle. They are a cross between a kahle and circle. Once you see the commitment from a fish.....not a yank, peck peck, tap, just do whatever you want to. Sweeping the rod keeps the angler more in control and they pick up more line. A fast yank will not pick up as much line. If the catfish is moving to you when you yank, there is a good chance you'll never connect.

Jerk, yank, sweep, reel down, run up the bank backwards, turn around and set it over your sholder, put the boat in gear and take off, letum scream the clickers then break their neck, or you can letum hook themselves on trotlines, juglines, linblines, bank poles, yo-yo's and last but not least the trusty ole rod and reel......WHATEVER, they just work!

Best thing to do is just go fishin and have some fun experimenting with how you like to use the DOUBLE ACTION hooks. Everyones got their favorite hookset method and I am sure you will get partial to one in time.
