Fished Cedar Creek today with Jason Smart and his buddy David Bishop. Had the best day so far this spring.

David caught his personal best, a 3# White Crappie shooting docks.

Most of the fish were caught on jig & bobber in shallow water.

David with his "honest" 3# Crappie

Quite a stringer for a windy spring day.

I tell you what fellas...you are right about Ernest.......He taught me more about crappie today in an 8 hour fishing trip than I have had the confidence to learn on my own in the past 3 or 4 years specifically when i started to slow down on the bass fishing. Sure we've caught crappie in the past years but the man knows his stuff and he shows you how to gain confidence in his techniques which are deadly in the spring. And confidence is the key. He'll answer any questions you have on the subject and gave us some tips for summer and fall.............just short of GPS coords...... laugh

As a person that has chased green trash fish (can't believe i just said that eek )all my life, I was here more to learn some new techniques and more about the crappie themselves....the fish, the conversation and Dave's personal best we're all bonuses.

David and I had a blast today Ernest and look forward to others like it. Look forward to trying it again in October as you suggested.

BTW.....We'd have probably caught 10 more fish but it's hard for two duck hunters to concentrate with greenheads flying within 10 yards of the boat all day. cool

Lord.....Please forgive me for what I am about to do to your crappie......AMEN

Is the peanut oil hot enough yet?

That sure is a nice stringer of fish. I am ready for some hot action in my area.

I am glad y'all had a great day fishing.

I have a question for Ernest. The last 2 weekends in a row we have slayed the crappie (big ones) by my boathouse on Friday evenings. Then just caught periodic fish throughout the rest of the weekend. Is it possible that we're emptying the hole and then just catching the stragglers for the rest of the weekend?
Thanks, Rob
