Did you (chad95) see any birds working yesterday? My original plan was to slab and/or burn fuel chasing birds around the lake.
I may need to change destination for tomorrow.

Only suggestions I can give you is to read your fishfinder carefully. When I've been out catching fish lately they're not showing on the graph, they're hugging the bottom really tight. Have been relying on reading bottom contour for places to try. Also expect very subtle bites.

I've seen plenty of birds, but none of them have really been feeding this week. Saw some good bird activity 2 weeks ago, but for the most part they're just sitting on the water. Best feeding activity we saw this week was right around the tires at Tower Bay. My son and I started throwing them some left over shad. They went CRAZY! Probably doesn't help you find any sandies or hybrids though.

Went fishing with K_N last Sunday and the only thing caught (by him) was a aluminum handled fishing net pulled up at the gravel pits and then a 3lb brick attached to a 3lb catfish near the whitehouse. There were jugs all around but this one came up clearly cut off and had the fish fighting all the way up. Between the brick and the catfish, Kerry and I thought there was a whopper on there.
Marking fish everywhere but nothing biting.

Trying to convince the redhead that we need to hit the lake for an hour or two between family gatherings ... first her family in an hour, then mine at about 5pm ...
I think she's considering slipping a valium in my coffee to get these crazy ideas outta my head.

I took some relatives out yesterday and we caught one small sandbass. Marked fish in the gravel pit area but could not get any takers.
Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and he has to buy rods, aluminum reels, monofilament lines, nets, tackle boxes, lures, spinners, worm rigs, slip sinkers, offset hooks, gore-tex hats, polarized sunglasses, fish finders, depth sounders, radar, boats, trailers, global positioning systems, coolers, six packs...

Went out yesterday for about 3 hours, end up with 55 on the clicker. All where caught bouncing TNT180's off the bottom. Last several weeks, they have been hugging the bottom, so depthfinder has been more beneficial than the birds. Many dinks with a few large SB's and Hybrids mixed in. Did catch one 3 lb cat on a slab. Here are a couple pics of the Hybrids.

Went out yesterday with the little nephew (2-1/2 yrs) & his dad in between family gatherings. The kid didn't actually catch anything, but he was all over the sandbass every time I put one in the boat. Total was 26 sandies, some keeper size, others dinks - no hybrids and all fish released.
Mostly worthwhile just to see the kid trying to hold the fish up for pictures ... no fear of slimy flopping fishies there!

I was out this morning and caught about 5 keepers and 20 dinks (with one keeper Hybrid mixed in). 20 to 30 feet of water seems to be the depth with most being caught in 24 to 25 feet of water. The big fish seem to be very scattered (to me anyway). The smaller fish (4 to 5") were bunched up on the slopes of most humps (again 25 feet of water). At least the water was very calm this morning with very little boat traffic. Oh, and all fish were released.
