I am accepting the fact I live on the coast, and i guess I will be redfishing. So I you guys were going wadefishing what would you be throwing this time of year? I am going thanksgiving morning with a buddy. Neither of us are good at catching redfish because we are freshwater fisher's so neither of us know what to throw. Any help would be awesome. Setup will be wade fishing in a small river just deep enough to get a small boat in marsh surroundings.

Thanks
Marcus

I would start off and get an assortment of topwaters, some soft plastics and some spoons.

Get some Super Spook Jrs. A bone color one and chrome/black one to start. A mirrolure Top Dog Jr in a chartreuse color, gold.

And get an assortment of Saltwater Assassins.

And a few Tony Accetta Pet Spoons. In gold color.

I can list a lot of artificials to use but to start I would go with something like that to start off with without spending too much on a lot of lures at one time.

Thanks.

Let me also say I do have a few lures I was told are good bang for buck. Yellow, white, and chrome spoon. Refish killers from Texas Tackle and like 2 or 3 top waters and treble hooked baitfish looking things. But NOTHING has ever worked for me, everytime I have just wasted gas on the trip.

Yes, chrome spoons and gold spoons work well. I don't use spoons a great deal but I catch redfish and trout on them and always keep some gold and silver spoons when I am wading.

Mostly I like to use topwaters. If I am using a fly rod then I use big popper flies or clousers for redfish.

If you get just one topwater bait then get a bone color Super Spook Jr. Or the bone color with silver sides. I have had a lot of luck with it in a lot of different water conditions. Or the bigger one in just the regular Super Spook. And if it is not producting for you then go with a chrome or gold topwater. Use different size ones too.

Saltwater Assasins/Bass Assassins work great for me. But there are a lot of soft plastic baits out there. Norton Sand Eels, Texas Trout Killers, DOA, Devil Eyes, and the ever famous Corky line of baits which are excellent too.

If you want a good topwater bait I would go with the Rapala XR-13. Or a Skitterwalk.

When I head down there soon I want to try the Mirrolure 19MR S

I bought some and they are a nice looking lure and have a clear body and silver sides. It's a suspending twitchbait in perfect size in 3 1/4 inches and 3/8 oz when the bigger topwaters are not working and I want something smaller to work just below the surface in shallow water. I am excited to give those a try on my next trip.

1970judge - Don't forget Gulp 3" Shrimp! (New Penny or Glow) Reds & Flounders love it!

AJ Perez - Let me know how that Mirrolure 19MR S works. I have one new in the box. It seems I do not need anything else besides Gulp. (Unlees, I'm working the birds with my spoons.)

I'll let you know how it works. It is a sweet looking lure right? They had other color schemes like the electric chicken color and some other ones but I ended up getting some of the 19MR S ones since it was the last they had and I got the last 2 they had in stock and I got some other Mirrolures too. I'm really eager to try this lure out as it looks very promising.

Try the Glad Shad lure - Live Shrimp - Dead Shrimp - Mullet - Gold and Chrome Spoons - and all kinds of Gulp.
