Alligator Sighting Caught On Camera

POSTED: 6:59 pm CDT April 17, 2006
UPDATED: 7:02 pm CDT April 17, 2006

LAKE WORTH, Texas -- An alligator sighting in North Texas was recently caught on camera.

It happened Friday at the Fort Worth Nature Center, which surrounds Lake Worth.

The Moore family used a home video camera to capture the gator on tape while it sunned itself.

They watched the resting reptile for a few minutes before it swam off.

"We always heard about alligators being at Lake Worth, but to actually see one was unbelievable," Miranda Moore said.

The nature center posts warning signs about the gators, but officials said they have never had a problem with the reptiles.

I've been planning to take the kayak over there. Is the fishing any good?

On the subject, has any been sighted on Ray Roberts? I pitched a tube up on what I thought was a log a few years back and the 'log' swam off rather quickly-nearly soiled myself. I didn't know what it was but when it came alive I wondered.

Warhawk,if you're out there when they're actively feeding, like very early in the morning, the fishing can be pretty good. But once the sun gets up they shut down pretty quick.Probably because most of the area is so shallow.
