Went out for a few hours saturday morning to a brush pile, but the crappie just weren't biting. I guess all the trafic on the lake for the holiday weekend had the fish scared. We ended cleaning around 6 keepers but all that we caught were hold tight on the brush. I'm sure if they were headed for deep water or what, but didn't have great results. What do you expect with about a billion sea doos running around! LOL

same here. we fished sat and sunday on several of the brush piles (red skeeter). fishing was shut down from all the noise(boat traffic). did find some more brush piles though by watchin others fish them....hehe. Was awfully nice on sat when the rain came- all them crazies went inside. and actuallly had 10 minutes without a ski boat tryin to tump us over with their wakes! ended up with about 20 big crappie between sat and sunday. the best spot was next to the bridge pilings.

Yeah, well if you watched 4 guys in a pontoon boat we were sitting on about the best brush pile on the lake. A buddy of mine sunk a big willow tree there and it holds crappie very well. The bridge can produce some good ones, but we have caught 300 in a weekend over our honey hole!!! lol

I have a house in Snug Harbor/Walleye park, across from the trailer house with the octagonal window. I see a lot of guys fishing a brush pile that supposedly sits there about 50' from the bank. Either of you guys know that spot or the spot coming out of Tall Tree on the right going towards main lake? Where can I get the GPS coordinates for the Franklin County brushpiles?

I've heard of a couple brush piles down on that end of the lake, but I live in Kings country and the ones I fish are down on this end of the lake. I've heard that Franklin county won't give out the coordinates to thier brush piles, my friend talked to some people and they said that they won't give them out to people for private use. I don't understand that, but I guess thats just so the Lake Patrol will have good fishing spots.

Now you know I wouldn't do that to ya! hahaha. If I did that I'd be afraid you'd just add me to the structure on the brush pile!

Think I know where the pontoon boat was sitting. In panther- thats all I will say. Was a little blue older bass boat around ya'll? Actually went back and found the two piles over there. If they are yours I will make darn sure they stay secret and wont fish them if anyones around. Theres many, many more all over the lake just as good. laugh

We mainly drift for Catfish in Panther, SkeeterRonnie. I know OF "SOB" (Sweet Ol' Bob) laugh but I've never met him. He used to have a guide service but seems to have quit. Next time we see a red Skeeter, I'll stop and see if it was you. I did see a red Skeeter fishing the bridge one morning, while I picked up a few of the bigger crappie around the shaded side of columns. If it was you, do you remember a guy with a red Dachsund going crazy over the birds that roost under the bridge? thumb

I have a house on cypress in north shore. I have never done very good for crappie out there. I know no one wants to give up their honey-holes but could anyone point me in the right direction on where to go or better yet show me where to go.

stratos, Cypress is a week-day lake and I don't mean that to be a smart-A.. SeaDoo traffic makes it tough to catch many fish on the weekend. I'd be happy to show you the spots I fish. A good start is west bridge columns in the early morning, jigged straight down and slowly raised. Red/chart tube jigs on 1/32nd oz should produce a few slabs. Don't forget to add a crappie nibble if they are finicky. laugh

Thanks, I usually only get down there on weekends and I know when there is boat traffic the fish get shy. I usually try to get up and be out at day light because it is not long after that the sea-doos come out. I would like to meet up with you and see where some spots are that crappie hang out. I won't tell anyone about the spots either. I have never done very good at the bridge. My house is the first house on the north side of the lake on the west side of the bridge. Blue house two boat houses. It would be good to meet a fellow TFF'er especially on cypress.

I look forward to meeting you. I live just north of the King's Country boat ramp. I have a pontoon boat in the boathouse. I'd say this weekend but I have Family coming up from South Texas that I haven't seen in almost a year so I may be fishing with my brother-in-laws. If you see a red weenie dog on a pontoon boat, it'll be me and I'd be happy to share what I can gather about how the fish are doing.

Stratos,
Jiggin Fool can show you where to catch the fish, I've known him for a long time and I never caught much on this lake until I started fishing with him. Now I've learned a lot and have had a great time out on the lake. he has lived here a long time and knows this lake inside out! But watch out for that red weenie dog, he is the most serious fisherman you'll ever meet!!! If we could teach him to hold a rod and real, he would limit out in an hour! hahaha
