I've only met 1, it was Kelly Jordan. Had the opportunity to sit and talk with him and drink a couple of beers and listen to his fishing and hunting stories (he is a big deer hunter as well). And to boot, Randy White (former Dallas Cowboy / HOF'r) was there (Lake Fork)! Believe me, he's still a massive man!!

Both were great.

I met a pro in Del Rio, he was fishing the bass pro's Battle on the border on lake Amistad. I tried to talk to him, but he was an arrogant jerk. So much so that he wouldnt talk enough to even tell me his name. All he said yeah Im fishing it,, (it) being the tournament. Then he just walked away without saying a word. I just figured he wasnt catching any fish,, he didnt deserve to anyway treating people like that...

Fished with Pete Ponds - Great Guy and lots of fun. Also fished with Roger Boler at Fork at the PAA one year. Set at a table with Shaw Grigsby, and Mark Davis, both super down to earth guys and very personable.

I've had very positive experiences with pros so far. I met Byron Velvick and Marty Stone at Amistad in March right after the Elite Series tournament there and they were both very easy to talk to. Fished for two days with Kurt Dove and he was an awesome guy. Spent a day in the boat with Brian Clark at the Grudge Match last year and have seen him a few times since. They don't come any better than Brian. Met Cory Waldrop at Fun-N-Sun last year and he was a great guy too. I met Cheryl Bowden a couple times at BPS and she was great to talk with and she showed me a few tips on flippin and pitchin. I also met Jimmy Houston at the Arlington Tackle show two years ago. What an incredibly nice guy. Only thing with Jimmy is, you have to watch out because he will talk your ear clean off! smile

KVD camera boat on Lewisville for 2 days. Heck of a nice guy and alot more laid back and funny than his TV persona makes him out to be. When he was fishing the dam on day 2 we basically tied our boat to his and just kicked back and watched the show. He joked about where to have a beer and talked about his kids. Nice guy, can't say enough good things about him.

Gary Klein is a very nice guy. I've followed Gary around on a couple tournaments now. Ike is great also, very friendly.

Edwin Evers, although I only met him briefly was pretty funny too. He had a lot of questions about Ray Hubbard years ago. Kevin pulled me aside and told me not to tell him anything, lol. Obviously they 'thought' they were going to fish Hubbard, that never panned out, hehe. Funny how word travels about things, they were asking about the River......

Took my son to Amistad Battle on the Border and we went out and followed a few of the guys. At weight in Van Dam Said was that ya'll I saw following me? I sad Yes it was, and he thanked me for bringing my son to watch, he said they are they future of our sport.Overall we got autographs from nearly all of them and they were great with my son. He is upset they are not going there this comming year he was looking foward to it.

Rode as an observer in the PAA on toledo bend with Shaw Grigsby. What a great guy! He was very friendly, easy to talk to, and very much of a gentleman. We talked extensively about fishing, religion, he is a very Christian man, he is an example of his beliefs, family, some politics, etc. It was a very educational and enjoyable day for me.

Pulled up to Bass Pro Shop in Grapevine and Skeet Reese was in the parking lot with all that "bling" he drives down the road in. No one else around and we talked diesel truck motors for quite a while until he had to go inside and "earn a living". Great and personable man but why wouldnt he be. Life is all about perspective. Why wouldnt you be humbled by the fact that you are blessed enough to be able to make a living/fortune doing what you would be paying for and trying to find time for if you worked an 8-5 grind like so many others? Thats for pro fishermen or any profesional athlete!

I have met a few and can say that if I ever got to meet John Crews again I would love to B slap him. He was rude and arrogant. Was it one time thing, was it a bad day, or is just like that. Don't know, don't care. First impressions are just that! And my first impression of him is he is not a likeable guy. I'd love for him to prove me wrong. In the mean time, AZZ!!!
