I was there on Sunday and managed to get 4 keepers in about 3 hours on a white spinnerbait, up north by the mouth of the river

By keepers, I assume you mean 18+ inches?

Saturday was a good day as well. Spinnerbaits and swimbaits around the brush/grass/whatever shallow vegetation that is out there.
