Has anyone ever tried wax worms for rainbow trout? Any success? I heard they work.

I've had good luck using wax worms ice fishing and have caught many rainbow trout on them. I have never tried them in Texas though.

Some on suggested string cheese to me last year.
I fished it under a bobber and also on the bottom.
It works but I quit using it because the trout swallowed the hook.
Trying to work the hooks out of the fish killed them thus limiting my fishing to 5 fish.
I am going to use flies this year with the barb bent into the hook.
Easier release means more fishi8ng fun catch and release.

We spent two days on white river last week, caught over 200 rainbows and we caught a few on wax worms, but we had better results fishing with something from my crappie box. I tied on a small long shank hook, made it barbless, then used the small "squirmin squirts", bass pro brand, in multiple colors, and used a small split shot weight about 10'' above hook, carolina rig style. Hundreds of trout, easy release (barbless), and we could cull the best 5 that fit perfect on grill. The hook bends from a snag, saving retie and multiple fish per "SQUIRT".200 Fish- under $10 in tackle.Caught Rainbows, brownies, and one "cutbow". Absolute blast. Arkansas-Trout capital of US

The official date of the Trout stocking below Canyon dam is 12-4-09.

http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/fish/management/stocking/trout_stocking.phtml

With the current release most of the area will be angle to knee deep. Makes it tough with low water.
Time to dig out the power eggs, spinners and splitshots.

I did almost the same thing on Lower Mountain Fork last year... but I only caught 20-25. Tiny grubs work great too...

Is anybody going to go out and fish in the Snow tommarow?
I have not checked to see if/when they increased the flow.

There is a good flow at the Blanco State Park this year.
I'm not sure what they gig you for getting in.
