Ok, I am slowly embracing the DFW Water and the differences between Stillhouse/Belton...I loved dragging FH Jig around the clear, deep, rocky water in Central Texas...I'm looking at our club schedule or waters we will be fishing, and it appears to me, there arent too many good footballhead jig dragging on the bottom lakes around DFW...Am I missing one?

go throw a 1/2 oz PBJ black angel football head jig around rip rap on ray hubbard. Dont count out a football head jig just cause they lake has alot of grass. look for the edge of the grass line. usually there is a hard bottom right on the edge where the fish will be.

You can throw a football head jig on any lake in the westoplex. Here are some off the top of my head. Grapevine, Eagle Mountain, Lake Worth, Bridgeport, Ray Roberts, Graham, Hubbard Creek, Granbury, Benbrook just to name a few. All of these lakes have a lot of rocks.

CBPbasser,

It sounds like you have a lot of confidence in the football jig and that is the main thing. I am finding out that the football jig works on all the DFW area lakes. You don't have to throw it in rocky areas only. Throw it anywhere you would throw a carolina rig. Points, humps, creek channels, ledges, drop-offs...etc... I caught one on a football jig at Fork this week end fishing the outside edge of a grass line.

I agree with you! Dynamite is a better alternative on that lake.

You can drag a football jig just about anywhere you want to. All that matters is you have confidence in them.
