Well the time has come to update my spinning arsenal. I currently have two low priced rods and two low priced reels and its time to go to a more premium setup. Now I am kind of and ABU/Falcon guy but that is with baitcast setups and I dont really know anything about spinning setups so im open to anything. Im wanting one that is kinda multi-purpose so I can shakey head, drop shot, and wack jig head with the same rod. Im wanting to keep the price around $250 dollars. So far I have come up with this. Reel http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/descpageRLSABU-AGSR.htmlRod http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/descpageSPINFALCON-FBCS.htmlWhat do yall think? Any and all suggestions appreciated

Shimano or Daiwa. Get the lightest weight in 2500 size you can afford. The Daiwa's handle line slightly better.

I think your choices would be fine. From personal experience this is what I would recommend: Reel: Daiwa Tierra 2500 or for a little more the Advantage. Also, the Shimano Saros is good. Rod: Shimano Crucial (lifetime warranty), BPS Johnny Morris, or Cabelas XML. Another route would be to get a cheaper reel like the Daiwa Exceler (best value on the market and really smooth) and pair it up with a higher end rod like a Shimano Cumara or Daiwa Fuego. This is what I would do because the reel is not as crucial in a spinning set up.
Eating is fundamental

Check out a Falcon Lowrider LFC-4-1610 shakey head special and pair that up with a 1500 series Shimano Symetre reel. I have 10lb test P-line fluouroclear line on my setup. I caught a 3.40 bass this weekend on a shakey head worm and had no problem boating the fish. For my weightless & wacky worm fishing, I use a Falcon Cara weightless worm rod with a 200 series Shimano Curado and 12 test Seagar inviix line. Hope that helps

I use 2 different rod/reel combos for this type of fishing.
Shimano Symmetry 2500 with a 6'6" Gloomis IMX SJR MF
Shimano Stradic 2500 with a 6'6" St. Croix M F

Thanks for the advice guys. Of the reels yall have named which one would be the best as far as preventing line twists? If there is such a reel that is.

I have 2 Cardinal 700 series spinning reels and a Daiwa Exceler, which are the same basic platform as the Soron STX and Tierra/Advantage.
basically, you aren't going to go wrong if you chose between those 2 and throw the Shimano Saros in there as well...not a bad choice in the bunch.
The Soron is made of more metal (all metal frame, sidecover, rotor, HPCR bearings, carbon matrix drag), but the Daiwa is a little smoother on retrieves.

I don't own anything besides Shimano reels. The only time I have line twist issues is fishing tubes or drop shot and it takes several trips before I get any indication of it.

preventing line twist is more about how you put the line on the reel and closing the bail manually. I chuck my spool up in a drill and put the line on just like a baitcaster.

As for reels, the Daiwa Tierra or Shimano Stradic in 2500 size. I have both and they are both great. The Tierra is cheaper. As for rods, I'm a Hendrix guy and Mike has both a drop shot rod and a shaky head rod. You can't go wrong with either. Plus he has a sale on through Christmas. Search for Hendrix rods on Google. I also have a Shimano Crucial which I like a lot too.
