Welcome to the board fishingbuffalo. God only knows what the crappie will be doing this weekend.

After the front, rain, and wind this past weekend, we tried it yesterday afternoon. We fish from the bank at one of the creeks. We had our best fishing day so far. We saw some guys jigging that had stringers of 8-10 fish each.

The crappie were right at the bank. When I say right at the bank, I mean six inches from the bank.

Another front with rain is due to pass through the area this afternoon or this evening. If I have my way we will hit it again this evening and take a lantern to fish a couple of hours after dark.

I fished the Pond creek area sloughs tuesday afternoon and until midnight, with no luck other
than a few small sandbass. Plenty of fish showing up on graph at various depths but couldn't get a
bite on minnows or jigs. I even tried drifting for catfish but not a bite there either.
Apparently the cold fronts are shutting down the bite but I think the spawn is still a couple
of weeks away if we get plenty of warm days. Water temp was 55.4 degrees surface everywhere I went. This is a hard time of year with all these
late cold fronts and the changing weather.
Welcome to the forum fishingbuffalo and good luck this weekend!

Thanks for the info! I was there last weekend in searching for bass. It may still be a little early for that. Water was about 57 to 60.5 degrees 1\2 mile southwest of the Buck Creek ramp. I am taking a freind and his son out hoping to have a small fish fry Saturday eve.

I've had good luck in the past on Raybob around the new moon in April for shallow spawning crappie.
